Family Background and brief description of the child:

This girl, Vinodhini born to Maari (Father) and Vijayalakshmi (Mother) is living in the interior jungle Tribal village of Chemmanatham. They belong to one particular aboriginal Illiterate Tribe called Irulas.

The children and not even adults cannot come out of this jungle village safely, for fear of wild animals like elephants, Tigers and Bison. Generations after generation, these people are living inside this jungle village, without having much access to the out-side world. Until recently, they did not have electricity or running water. Now they have electricity but no running water. They live in one roomed houses built by the government. This house is their bedroom, kitchen and drawing room! These people live by collecting wild honey, and selling cow dung and firewood. In the summer, the children are also forced to help the parents in making their living by collecting and selling cow dung.

A word of Appeal
We are inspired to take the children from this village and give free education food and clothing in Good Shepherd School. We have already started picking them up in our school bus every day morning. This is step of faith and a challenging decision. For us it is a 12-year commitment--- educate the child up to Plus two.

If you feel that you want to be a part of this challenging step of faith, you can sponsor one child. This will cost you only 15 Dollars a month.
