Family Background and brief description of the child:
Sathya was our child in the child feeding center in the Tribal village of Bokkapuram, which we had to wind up in 2002. Sathya was born to Kali, a Kurumba Tribal woman in the jungle village of Bokkapuram. One Malayalee( a non-tribal ethenic group), man who was a usual visitor of this jungle village livied with Kali for many years giving her 4 children before he left this jungle hamlet to find his confortable family life by marrying another lady belonging to his ethnic group. She never turned back to see Kali or these four children born to to him. Sathya was special among the 40 plus children in the child feeding center in the village of Bokkapuram. We took her to an orphanage in Ooty city ( we did not have an orphanage then). After 4 weeks they wanted us to take her back as "she did not know how to use the modrern European toilet". We brought her back and let her live with us in our home. This was the beginning of our "Good Shepherd Orphanage". Sathya was the second among the 3 orphan children we adopted that
year.
Sathya is a "crazy lover" of Jesus Christ our Lord. She received the Lord and testified the Lord in water baptism. Sathya is a prayer warrior. She has the special talent of public speaking. She is also an excellent student. She needs 3 more years to finish her high school.
Last year she had an attack of Appendicitis and it burst inside. Lord protected her and we got it operated on in a big hospital in Ooty city. Now she is perfect. Sathya wants to become a school teacher and she wants to under go 2 year full time training for Lord's work after her graduation.
She is the only torch bearer for the whole village of Bokkapuram, whose people are notorious for witchcraft.
